The two things we should never neglect, ever...

I read this in my yoga class while students where in savasana... "A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. The quotes are a beautiful reminder to take care of your mind, body, and spirit. I go for a run with my youngest boy on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. At least I try to run. It turns out to be more of a walk then a run and I grudgingly do it anyway. It's called a Eustress and it is a common stress that is good for you. More on that in another blog. I'll plug in my earbuds and listen to a podcast. The one that hooked my attention was from Warren Buffett and he said, You only get one mind and one body. And it's got to last a lifetime. Now, it's very easy to let them ride for many years. But if you don't take care of that mind and that body, they'll be a wreck 40 years later. It's what you do right now, today, that determines how your mind and body will operate 10, 20, and 30 years from now.

In the last few days those words have stuck. It is so easy to sit on the couch, pass on a yoga class, skip a running day, etc..etc... Health, happiness, and healing is hard work! We get this one life, right now to do the best we can with it. The mind and the body are two things we should never neglect, ever! And I would add a third, the Soul. "You don't have a Soul. You are a soul. You have a body." ~Buddha
